About Us:
We are MUSASHI Japan, one of Tokyo’s top three high-end Japanese knife brands, with over 50,000 loyal fans worldwide. We’re excited to announce the opening of our brand-new store in Kyoto, just 5 minutes from the Kamo River on historic Sanjō-dori. This will be our largest location yet, offering not only our premium knives but also Japanese sake and cultural workshops on the upper floors.
About the Role:
As a Store Staff at our Kyoto store, you will be part of an exciting new venture that blends retail with cultural experiences. We are looking for enthusiastic, communicative individuals who are eager to join our expanding team.
Qualifications:
- Previous retail experience is a plus but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Excellent communication skills, strong customer service abilities, and experience with cash handling and POS systems.
- A positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to assist customers and work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- An interest in Japanese culture and eagerness to learn more about it.
- Proficiency in English is required; preference will be given to those with Japanese language skills or proficiency in other global languages.
What We Offer:
- Trial Period: Successful candidates will be invited for a trial at our Kyoto store in October to assess fit and performance.
- Training Period: If you pass the trial, the hourly wage during training is 1,200 Yen. Training duration depends on your learning pace, with fast learners completing it in 2 weeks.
- Base Salary: After training, the hourly wage ranges from 1,300 to 1,500 Yen, based on your knowledge of knives and overall contribution.
- Long-Term Benefits: After 6 months, we can offer full-time employment and visa sponsorship to high performers, with benefits including paid holidays and bonuses three times a year.
- Growth Opportunities: Over 90% of our current employees are from various parts of the world. We plan to expand our team to 100 individuals this year and aim to open 2-4 new stores annually. Future plans include Japanese sake bars, hotels, and other real estate ventures.
