Cygnus Research is a small boutique recruitment agency established in April 2014 in Tokyo by a Japanese gentleman who has 12 year extensive recruitment experiences through several foreign recruitment agencies.

As a recruitment firm, we are assisting global companies (foreign capitalized companies and global Japanese companies) and job seekers who are seeing professional talents and jobs particularly in the ICT Sales, ICT Marketing, ICT Engineering as well as Legal, Compliance and Forensic professional sectors.

With the steadily increased revenue and profit as well as increasing demands from our ICT clients, we are now expanding our business and hiring a new members for the ICT consultant positions.


POSITION:

Recruitment Consultant or Associate Consultant | ICT division


JOB RESPONSIBILITY:

• Your job as a recruiter is the overall activities from finding and introducing qualified candidates to your clients and then make placements. (Your incentive performance bonus is calculated based on the amount of placement fee we receive from your clients.)
• Facing both clients (the hiring companies) and candidates (job seekers), understanding the hiring and job needs from both parties, searching for candidates for the clients, screening the resumes, arranging interviews for both parties, closing the deal, following up with both clients and candidates after your placed candidate's employment starts and make sure both parties are satisfied.
• Speaking not only to our clients' HR people but also top management such as CEO, COO, CTO, CIO, Head of Sales as well as Regional level and global level top management to build and maintain good relationships as well as understanding their current and future hiring needs.
• Business development and networking activities. (Please do not worry, we are going to train you with provision of proper methods and techniques to do your job well.)
• Closely working with the research team and the company representative, depending on the search requirement you will have.
• Sharing the clients and any beneficial information with other divisions and colleagues.
• Some key words for you to get clearer image of a recruiting job can be… Customer Facing, Sales, Cold Calling, Business Development, Screening and identifying lots of CVs, Sense of Urgency, Challenging, Patience, Rewarding, Value Adding, Team Work, Team Synergy.


CAREER DEVELOPMENT:

• Your base salary as well as position/job title will be promoted once you achieve the revenue target that the company initially sets for you. (Our first hired person got promoted 3 times in 2 years and a few months, for example.) There are career progress from Associate Consultant, Consultant, Senior Consultant and so on. Above Senior Consultant position, there will be two different career paths either into a specialist or management area for you. If you choose to go into the specialist area, you will become Principal. If you choose to go into the management area, you will become a team manager.
• A manager will also be responsible for hiring and training new recruitment consultants.
Even further career expansion with higher positions are available as per your completion of each level of position. As explained above, your base salary will increase with each promotion.

1) Japan Country Manager @ A European ICT company
2) Regional Sales Director @ An American ICT company
3) 5 Retained (Exclusive) sales manager and senior marketing manager positions @ A European ICT company


OUR CLIENTS:

We are working with various types of clients such as IT (Hardware, Software, Internet, Fintech, etc.), advertisement, telecommunication, medical device, pharmaceuticals, Bio Science, fashion/retail, consumer goods, food/beverage, machinery, industrial materials, chemical, materials, construction, consulting firm, law firm, audit firm, design office, translation/localization firm, etc. from small sized ventures to world-famous listed companies located inside/outside Tokyo and Kanto region. (We are also filling the positions in the country sides.)

Examples of our core clients are a foreign capitalized ICT company who is exclusively working with us, a growing Japanese global ICT company who recently asked us to fill over 100 of their positions (maximum 200) and a foreign capitalized ICT company who is working on drastic corporate reorganization and replacing their core members. (Cygnus Research is the first agency that this client asked for a help to fill the positions.)

SUPPORT & ENVIRONMENT:

• The company will provide you with day-to-day training and supports needed to ensure your success. Your success is our success. We will not just randomly provide you with a phone and internet access and expect revenue from you without our company efforts like some other recruitment agencies.
• For your information, our first hired recruitment consultant started making placements from a few months after his employment started. The placements include the largest deal he ever made in his entire recruitment career.


REQUIREMENT:

• English: Business level (The common language in the office is English, though the company owner is a Japanese person.)
• Either minimum 2 years working experience in any industries OR minimum 6 months working experience in the recruitment industry
• Being interested in the ICT business and industry (You will be hearing about our ICT clients’ businesses directly from them and explaining about their businesses to job seekers through your day-to-day job)


COMPENSATION:

• Highly competitive
• The performance bonus is payable four times a year (Above the market average)
• Our bonus scheme is designed in the most transparent way while some of other agencies including the major and well-known agencies' payment structure is based on your boss or company's discretion.
• There is a chance for your base salary to get increased twice in a year.


BENEFITS:

• If you already have an experience as a recruitment consultant who wants to expand his/her client portfolio, joining us at this stage would be beneficial because of less consultants in your same team and so there will be a wider choice of clients for you.
• The incentives (bonus) scheme we have is not yet the best in the market, but already exceeding the market average and most of the other major agencies in Tokyo. We will still continue improving the incentive scheme to be the best in the market.
