Client Company Overview:
We are working with an overseas recruitment company that is working with a local Japanese automotive IT component maker. This position will be based in Japan and work directly with the client company in Japan.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Autonomous Vehicle Test Engineer to support the testing and validation of cutting-edge autonomous driving technology. This role is field-based and requires extensive time spent inside test vehicles to execute software tests, identify issues, and ensure optimal system functionality. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a hands-on engineering background, and proficiency in both Japanese and English.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute and manage software test cycles, including test scenario execution, configuration management, and debugging.
- Identify, document, and report software and hardware issues to the engineering team.
- Ensure proper functionality and maintenance of cameras and other physical components in the test vehicles (car/bus).
- Oversee the management of computers and other hardware within the vehicle.
- Participate in demonstrations and communicate technical concepts effectively to visitors and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
- Practical engineering experience in any technical domain.
- Active driving license.
- Strong English and Japanese communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to
write clear technical reports.
- Willingness to perform field testing—this role requires being inside a test vehicle for extended periods (at least 6 hours per day).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with C++ or similar languages for basic code investigation.
- Experience working with Git/Docker.
- Familiarity with Autonomous Vehicles, Robotics, or related fields.
- QA experience, relevant internships, or a background in Software Engineering, IT, or a related technical field.

Key Considerations:
This is a field-based position, not an office-based role. Candidates must be comfortable working inside test vehicles for long hours and performing hands-on testing.

The role may involve some physical work to maintain and manage vehicle hardware.
The ideal candidate should have a proactive approach to troubleshooting, testing, and bug reporting.
