Y-SAPIX Global Campus (YGC), part of SAPIX YOZEMI GROUP, offers after-school and weekend Academic English classes to students from elementary to high school. Our guiding principles are discussion, intercultural understanding, and critical thinking. Classes are conducted in an all-English environment at our campus in Yoyogi.
We seek full-time native English instructors who can interact with young students intellectually and enthusiastically and design high-quality learning materials. Past teaching experience (FTF and online) and familiarity with the SSAT, SAT®, and TOEFL iBT® exams are a plus but not absolute requirements so long as the candidate is highly motivated, ambitious, and possesses a positive attitude! We welcome candidates who are excited to create unique, effective lessons that enhance our students’ English abilities.

Job Purpose:
To plan, teach, and review high-quality lessons for elementary, middle, and high school students that cultivate discussion, critical thinking, and intercultural understanding.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Plan and teach 1–2 all-English lessons five days per week
• Grade students’ assignments within one week of submission
• Make and review instructional materials (e.g., homework and tests)
• Prepare comments for Parent-Teacher Conferences and Grade Transcripts
• Participate in special events to recruit new students or introduce new classes
• Work with all team members to promote and develop Y-SAPIX Global Campus
Reporting Structure:
The Teacher directly reports to the Educational Consultant and Senior Educator.
The Teacher regularly reports to the Senior Manager.
The Teacher periodically reports to the Director.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of English Language Arts (e.g., literature, nonfiction, etc.)
• Skill in English fundamentals (e.g., orthography, grammar, etc.)
• Skill in public speaking and effective communication
• Ability to remember and meet multiple deadlines
• Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information
Working Days/Hours
• Tuesdays to Saturdays (Sundays and Mondays are considered ‘weekends’)
• Shift hours: 13:00 to 21:30 on Weekdays, 11:00 to 19:30 on Saturdays
• Hours are 37.5 hours per week (we do not encourage overtime although payment will be made if the time/shift is absolutely required).
• Work on Sundays is required seasonally for special recruitment events in Spring, Summer, and Fall (Substitute Holidays are provided when work on Sunday is required).
Vacations/Holidays
• Two days off per week: Usually Sundays and Mondays
• National/Public Holidays: Substitute Holidays given if they fall on a workday
• Annual Leave: 10 days granted in the first year (increases one day per year worked)
• Summer Break: 3-day summer vacation provided in addition to annual leave
• Winter Break: 4-day break (December 31st to January 3rd) provided in addition to annual leave
• Others: Employees eligible for Childcare Leave, Nursing Care Leave, Compassionate/Special Leave, and others*.
*Full-Time (including Contract) Employees only.
