Position Details
Established in 2019 and located near JR Kawasaki station, A-Star English School focuses on teaching English to children from 2 years to 16 years of age in class sizes of 1 to 6 students.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic teacher who enjoys working with young children.
Position: English Teacher for Children
Working Days: Five days a week including Saturday and Sunday (36-hour working week)
Weekday working hours: 10:00-19:00 with a 1-hour break or 15:00-19:00
Weekend working hours: 8:15-17:00 with a 45-minute break
Regular days off: Two days a week and the 29th, 30th and 31st of every month
Position Duties
To assist our lead teachers in our parent and child English classes for children of two to three years of age.
English teacher for conversation and phonics classes for students of 3 to 16 years of age
The teacher will be required to teach between 2 and 5 lessons of 40 to 60 minutes in a standard working day
Conducting video and in-person lessons for kindergartens
Creating lesson plans to meet the goals of our curriculum
Conducting of student assessments
Assist with the day-to-day duties of the school running

Benefits and Remuneration
Salary: 250,000-275,000 depending on experience
Bonuses: Contract completion and achievement bonuses will form part of the contract

Leave: 10 paid days of leave on completion of six months of employment
The employee is required to work on national holidays but our school is closed on the 29th, 30th and 31st of every month and these are scheduled holiday days for all staff.
Training will take place February through to the end of May.
We are seeking candidates that can start working with as as soon as possible as well as candidates that can start with us from April 2025.
