Full-time Afterschool English Teachers in Yokohama (Direct Hire)

Minami Kindergarten is currently seeking 2 full time, responsible teachers who can start immediately or from April 2025, with training on your earliest availability. At our school, we follow the GrapeSEED curriculum, with lessons held on MWF from 14:00 to 19:00. Hours outside of lessons are considered as prep time. Teachers are not required to attend Japanese school events or assist with daycare duties. However, candidates must adhere to Japanese work etiquette, which includes punctuality, maintaining a professional attitude, cooperation, and valuing group harmony.

Requirements:
- Native/Near-native level of English
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree (depending on your visa type, this might not be needed)
- Reliable and capable of managing tasks independently
- Respectful and eager to grow professionally
- Enjoys working with children
- Health-conscious with a positive personality
- No teaching experience are welcome

Working Hours:
• Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 10:00-19:00
• Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00-18:00

Compensation and benefits of working with us:

Main duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct lessons using GrapeSEED materials to students aged 3-12
• Occasionally lead morning classes (about one hour, total of 50 lessons in a school year)
• Conduct one-to-one parent conference
• Check students’ workbooks
• Create birthday and message cards for students
• Participate in English Halloween, Christmas and Graduation events
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and orderliness
• Decorate your own classroom
• Participate in the GrapeSEED training
• Assist in planning and organizing English events
