Description

A private jun/sen high school in Kanagawa seeks a full-time English teacher who can teach English class. This is a prestigious girls' school following Japanese governmental course guidelines with intensive English class.

This is not an ALT position as the duties includes supervising club activities, accompanying excursions, and participating school events. The successful candidate could be expected to hold MA in TESOL, or BA in education; it is preferred to have experience in teaching at jun/sen high school in Japan.

Direct contracting with school after one-year dispatching position could be expected with mutual agreement and performance in the following year.

START DATE: April 1, 2025

DUTY:
16-18 lessons of English (mainly solo teaching)
making lesson plan, proctor, test related duties, marking and assessment
participation in school events (voluntarily)
school PR---a few times a year during weekend (not in the first year)
teachers' meetings
supervising Eiken preparation
extracurricular class during students' summer and winter break
visits affiliated kindergarten during summer

WORKING HOURS:
8:10~17:10 (~16:20 if not required to stay)
from Monday to Friday
*seven Saturday-duty a year are expected when hired directly

HOLIDAYS:
-Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays, Christmas
-December 29-January 5
-seven unfixed days during students summer break
-four-day school closure during summer
-10 paid holiday in the first year

SALARY: Salary is determined in accordance with school policy when hired directly
*fixed monthly salary and bonus
*commuting allowance is paid separately
*not negotiable

REQUIREMENTS:
current resident in Japan
experience in teaching at an high school in Japan
all the required documents should be ready before the interview
Japanese communication skill not required but favorable
dedicated, hard-working, flexible, resilient, teamworking
