Elementary Home Room Teacher (Learning Facilitator) Position - March 2025 (or earlier)
Kobe Bilingual School (KOBILS) in Tarumi, Kobe, is seeking an experienced, flexible, and proactive elementary homeroom teacher to join our team in March 2025 (or earlier). We believe teaching is evolving, which is why we refer to our teachers as learning facilitators. This role requires teachers who can embrace a facilitator mindset, guiding students through inquiry based, project-driven learning and be adaptive to diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
● Facilitate engaging, individualized learning experiences
● Use diverse teaching methods, including digital tools, small group learning, outdoor learning, and differentiated instruction
● Support students' academic and personal development in a bilingual setting (Japanese language skills not necessary)
Our Ideal Candidate:
● Qualified teacher (PGCE/QTS/Bachelor) with at least 2 years of experience
● Strong writing and IT skills, eager for professional growth
● Passionate about working with children aged 4-12
● Experienced or interested in outdoor education, enterprise units, or integrating the
SDGs into teaching
● Comfortable leading without a traditional textbook, adapting to different
teaching modalities and developing curriculum within your own class
• Team work: Can operate as a team player, assisting and asking for help as required
• Can hit the ground running. Initial orientation is provided but you will be filling a vacant position
• Is energetic and healthy: We hike as a school, we all help with PE!
