Description

Job Overview:
We are currently looking for an SSHO with construction site experience to supervise safety regulations for fuel storage tanks projects. The position is in Kanagawa, Japan and Visa sponsorship available for suitable candidate. The successful candidate will join the site team to ensure that compliance with health and safety related regulations are met. The position requires at least 5 years construction experience with health & safety related responsibilities.

Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily safety and health inspections and maintain safety inspection logs.
- Conduct mishap investigations and complete required accident reports.
- Log work-related injuries/illnesses for Prime Contractors and subcontractors using designated forms.
- Maintain applicable safety reference material on the job site.
- Attend all relevant meetings, such as pre-construction meeting conferences and periodic in-progress meetings.
- Review the APP and AHAs for compliance with EM 385-1-1, and implement and enforce them.
- Establish a Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Deficiency Tracking System that lists and monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements.
- Provide and keep a record of site safety orientation for Contractor employees, subcontractor employees, and site visitors.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of proven work experience as a Safety Officer or a similar role
- Familiar with industry regulations regarding document keeping and handling
- Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
- Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills
- OSHA 30
- Successfully absolved EM 385-1-1 Training (preferable)
